Week one was pretty amazing! I followed the diet for most of the time, although I did have 2 beers Friday night and a glass of wine on Saturday. Also on Wednesday I ate some Swedish chocolate thY came in the mail. How could I turn that down!?
This week I tried two workout classes at the gym. Interval training was really good but the 1 min / 2 min card weight intervals weren't really that great because with so many people in the class it took too much time to get back and forth between circuits. I also tried the x-bike class and it was HARD! I am deffinetly going to keep going to that class!
So with the close of the week I being to you my first weigh in.
Start weight: 206
Goal weight: 150
Today's weight: 197
Woo! That is a weight loss of 9 pounds in week 1!
It's about the journey, not the destination

Goals
I am finally ready for the biggest challenge of my life. For the past few years (since the birth of my first daughter) I have dreamed of the day I would be thin enough and to have enough energy to really live life to the fullest. I have tried a few little diets here and there, tried running and going to the gym, but nothing ever stuck. My heart was never in it. I wanted the end results without accepting the challenge of getting there. This time I am ready. I have accepted the challenge and I am determined to meet my goals.
I have two goals that basically go hand in hand so I will be working on them at the same time.
Goal 1: Reach the weight of 150 by the end of the year. That is a weight loss goal of 56 pounds in 11 months
Goal 2: Run the Urban Cow (formally Cowtown) half marathon in October.
How am I going to reach these goals?
I started the South Beach diet on Monday. I am still in Phase 1 which is the hardest phase, but it seems to be going good so far. I will be weighing in every Sunday to note my progress.
I have committed myself to at least 3 group classes a week at my gym and will also be running on my own to get in shape. I will also be attending running training classes for a 10k in June and for the half marathon in October out on by FleetFeet in Sacramento.
I will also be doing all of this while being a mommy to a 4 month old and a 2 year old, going to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays and taking fiddling lessons. (And somehow managing a somewhat normal social life and a healthy relationship with my husband.)
Wish me luck!
